Do's and Don'ts of Karnataka PGCET 2025 Option Entry: Those who have qualified for the Karnataka PGCET 2025 exam will be eligible to take part in the Karnataka PGCET option entry process in 2025. During the PGCET option entry 2025 process, you are required to provide your college and course choices from the available college and course options. The options entered by you in the first round of the option entry will remain the same till the need. No provision has been provided by the authorities to change the options. You can delete or alter the order of the higher option. You will also be allowed to enter any new option of college & course that has been added to the seat matrix list after the first round. The entry option will commence inky after the receipt of the seat matrix from the government. Those who are eligible after the verification process will only be considered for option entry. You will have to first select the discipline in the option entry form. Here is the list of “Do’s” in the Karnataka PGCET 2025 option entry process -

  • You need to just preserve their secret key till the seat allotment process concludes

  • You must make a list of the colleges in which they wish to apply for admission before the beginning of the option entry process for the Karnataka PGCET

  • While filling the Karnataka PGCET online option entry form, you must refer to the list they have prepared, containing the names of all the colleges they desire

  • As there is no limit to the number of options you can provide, it is advised that you provide the maximum number of options

  • In case of applying for multiple courses, you must make sure your highest priority courses get the highest priority number during the option filling process

  • Higher priority numbers should be given to those colleges that are preferred highly by you

  • You must also make sure to do some research regarding the colleges, like visiting their official websites, visiting colleges, and getting information about the colleges from existing or previous students before applying for admission

  • You must make changes in their options accordingly after the mock allotment is declared (in case they were not allocated seats as per their first choice)

  • You must not forget to consider the previous years’ cutoff scores, location preferences, course preferences, etc, while filling out the option entry form for Karnataka PGCET 2025

Here is the list of “Don'ts” in the Karnataka PGCET 2025 option entry process -

  • You must not share any of your Karnataka PGCET credentials, like the secret key and the password, with anybody else

  • You should refrain from filling out the option form without a comprehensive knowledge of the previous years’ Karnataka PGCET cutoff scores

  • If the rank is 10,000, he/she should not choose those colleges in the options form whose closing rank or cutoff score has been below 10,000 in the last 2-3 years

  • In case you do not get allocated colleges of their choices in the mock allotment round, you must rearrange your options only after comprehensively going through the mock round cutoff scores

  • Visit the official website of the exam cetonline.karnataka.gov.in website.
  • Tap on the counselling link for Karnataka PGCET and then enter the secret key and password.
  • Now tap on the option entry link to check out the list of colleges & courses. Now select the course & college as per your preference.
  • In case you want to apply to more courses, repeat the above steps.
  • Now tap on the View Selected Options and check all the options selected by you. Tap on the submit button lastly to submit the choices in order of preference.

What Happens after the PGCET Option Entry Process?

Once the Karnataka PGCET option entry process ends, you can wait for the authorities to release the mock seat allotment. This mock allotment is conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority to make the students familiar with the process. Then the other rounds of the seat allotment will be followed after the mock seat allotment round.

Is there any limit for the entry of options for PGCET?

There is no limit for the entry of options for the PGCET option entry process. You are advised to select more options rather than getting disappointed with not securing a seat in the preferred college & course.

Can we add colleges in the second round of PGCET?

KEA does not permit any change of option after the option entry has been made. Candidates can select a different discipline and do the option entry for that as well. But they cannot add colleges once the option entry has been done.

What is option entry in PGCET?

Option entry in Karnataka PGCET is done to help the candidates fill in their choices of colleges & courses in order of preference, which will be later reviewed by the KEA to allocate them seats based on their choices. 

How to do option entry in PGCET?

If you mistakenly uploaded a wrong document (like a voter ID with the incorrect birth date) during the JEE Main application correction window and now need to upload the correct document showing your accurate date of birth, you should immediately log in to your JEE Main candidate portal using your application number and password during the open correction period.
