- Only in the first, second, and third rounds of counselling are requests for upgrades permitted. Using the same initial selections, the fourth round and mop-up round (if necessary) are reserved for students who were not seated in the preceding rounds.
- A student may reapply for an upgrade in the following round if they are upgraded in the second or third round, but still have the opportunity for a better choice. Before proceeding to the following round of counselling, all requests will be handled to offer students their top priority.
- As soon as the previous round's reporting is finished, the next round of ICAR online counselling will begin. To guarantee that students receive the finest seat possible, the upgrading procedure will continue until all counselling rounds are finished.

ICAR Round 1 Seat Allotment Result 2025: Seat Upgradation Instructions (2/3)
- All upgraded students will be automatically tagged as "Admitted" in the university reporting area. Their status cannot be changed to Not Reported/Not Eligible by the university. However, the student's enrollment will be cancelled, and all claims for an ICAR Fellowship or Scholarship may be forfeited if they do not show up at the upgraded university on the designated date.
- Following an upgrade, students should get in touch with the relevant university ahead of time to confirm the registration date and inquire about any other documentation needed. It is the student's obligation to turn in all necessary paperwork. The university or ICAR may refuse admission if any documents are missing when classes start.

ICAR Round 1 Seat Allotment Result 2025: Seat Upgradation Instructions (1/3)
- The student must have paid the Seat Acceptance Fee for the originally assigned seat in order to select the upgrade option.
- Through the University Login, which shows the entire progress (In/Out) of the upgrade procedure, students who seek an upgrade can monitor their status.
- The student will keep the seat they were initially assigned if there isn't a better option. The student must accept the upgraded seat if they are offered one, and the old seat will be lost. Before choosing to upgrade, students must carefully analyse their options because they cannot keep both their original and upgraded seats.
