IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation launched a new programme ‘Howzzat: Cricstats? Exploring the world of cricket analytics’ in collaboration with GITAA. GITAA is an IIT Madras incubated company. It provides training in AI, machine learning and data science. The course duration is eight months and interested candidates can apply for the same at digitalskills.pravartak.org.in. The programme is funded under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems by the central government through the Department of Science and Technology.
On August 14, 2023, IIT Madras launched a new certificate course on ‘Operations and Supply Chain Analytics for Strategic Decision Making’. The new IIT Madras course is offered through the ‘Centre for Outreach and Digital Education.’ The programme will help managers make critical decisions based on available information and data. There are a total of three modules. The application process for the new programme is currently ongoing. The last date to apply for the same is September 20, 2023.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework released the NIRF rankings for the year 2025 on September 4, on the official website, nirfindia.org. In the overall category, 17 Indian Institue of Technology (s) have made it to the list of top IIT colleges; IIT Roorkee moved up to 7th position, and IIT Indore moved up 6 places from 33rd to 27th position this year. IIT Placements 2024-25: IIT Placements for the year 2024-2025 have been conducted in two phases for all the IITs. Usually, the first phase began around December and the second phase from February to May. IIT Bombay reported an average package of approximately INR 36.9 LPA, with sectors like technology, finance, and consulting dominating recruitment.
