CA Final 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The CA Final eligibility criteria 2026 are laid down by the official examination conducting body, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, or the ICAI. To take admission to the CA course in India, students are required to clear the CA Foundation, CA Intermediate, and CA Final examinations. As per the CA Final eligibility criteria 2026, students must have cleared both the CA Foundation and Intermediate examinations to be eligible to sit for the CA Final. Students must clear the Intermediate exam with a good score and complete a 2.5-year articleship, practical training, and other online courses required.

CA Final Eligibility 2026: Primary Requirements

The CA Final examination is conducted thrice a year: January, May, and September. Students must qualify for the CA Foundation and CA Intermediate examinations to be eligible to sit for the CA Final exam. Students must qualify for one stage to be eligible for the subsequent or the next stage. However, students also have the option of the direct entry route, wherein they can skip the CA Foundation exam and directly sit for CA Intermediate.

  • Students must clear the CA Intermediate exam to be eligible for the CA Final stage.
  • Students must score a minimum aggregate of 50% marks and 40% marks in individual subjects in the CA Intermediate examination.
  • Students must have completed their stipulated practical training before appearing for the CA Final exam.

Detailed CA Final 2026 Eligibility Criteria

  • You need to clear all the papers from group 1 and group 2 in one sitting and score a minimum of 40% in each of the papers and 50% in the aggregate of all the papers to be eligible for the CA Final exams.
  • Further, you also need to complete the Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (ICITSS) before the commencement of Practical Training (PT) during the intermediate course, as only then will you be able to register for final exams.
  • It is also mandatory for you to undergo a Practical Training (PT) of two years as per the regulations of the ICAI new scheme.
  • Furthermore, after completion of practical training, you also need to complete an Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (AICITSS) duration specified by the exam conducting body.
  • You are required to complete self-paced online learning modules and score a minimum of 50% marks after completing the CA Intermediate exam but before appearing for the CA Final exam.
