The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the IBPS SO exam to recruit candidates. The candidates will be hired for different positions under IBPS SO such as Agriculture Field Officer, Marketing Officer (Scale I), HR/Personnel Officer (Scale I), IT Officer (Scale I), Law Officer (Scale I), and Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale I). IBPS will specify academic qualifications under the IBPS SO eligibility criteria 2025 for all the candidates. Candidates are advised to examine the eligibility norms and make sure they fulfil each of them before filling the application form.

IBPS has decided the upper and lower age limit for all the candidates as part of IBPS SO eligibility criteria. The age criteria under the IBPS SO 2025 eligibility criteria is as follows:

A candidate should either:
Applicants not covered under the SC, ST, OBC categories and have a gross annual income less than 8 lakh rupees are identified as EWS candidates i.e. candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Section. Such candidates are entitled to the benefit of 10% reservation for the vacancies released by IBPS.
Important Points related to IBPS SO Eligibility for EWS Category
The income from all sources such as salary, business, agriculture, profession, etc. will be included in revenue. This income will be the income from the financial year preceding the year of application.
However, any person or his family having possession of any of the following assets will not be included in the EWS category, irrespective of his annual family income.
While applying for the property holding test to determine EWS status, the property owned in different locations by a particular “Family” is clubbed. The term “Family” will include the person seeking the benefit of reservation, his parents, siblings below 18 years of age, spouse and children below 18 years of age.
Candidates seeking to avail the benefit of EWS reservation for IBPS SO Selection Process will have to produce an Income and Asset Certificate at the time of document verification and interview round issued by a Competent Authority in the prescribed format.
As per the Government of India norms, persons with benchmark disabilities are eligible for reservation under section 34 of “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016”.
The categories of disabilities eligible to avail reservation under the Act is as follows:
People with benchmark disabilities will be allocated the reserved vacancies as prescribed in the “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016” and as per vacancies reported to IBPS by Participating banks.
Directives for PwD using services of Scribe
Candidates whose writing speed is affected permanently or with minimum benchmark disability for any reason are allowed to use their own scribe during IBPS PO Exam 2021, but have to abide by certain rules mentioned below:
Directives for candidates with Cerebral Palsy and Locomotor Disability
Candidates with a minimum of 40% Cerebral Palsy and Locomotor Disability where dominant extremity i.e. writing is affected to the scope where it may slow down the performance will be permitted a compensatory time of 20 min/hr or otherwise advised.
Directives for candidates having Intellectual Disability
Candidates will be provided a compensatory time of 20 min/hr of the exam only if they are more than 40% Intellectually Disabled, mentally ill, Autistic or have Specific Learning Disability, irrespective of availing the Scribe services.
Directives for Visually Impaired candidates
The Visually Impaired candidates suffering from 40% or more disability may opt to view the contents of the question paper in magnified font and will be eligible for compensatory time of 20 min/hr otherwise advised. Only the visually impaired candidates who are not using the services of scribe will be permitted to avail the facility of viewing the contents of the test in the magnifying font.
Candidates who fulfil all the above IBPS SO Eligibility criteria 2025 should start preparing for the examination well in advance. As the IBPS application process is entirely online, it is useful to keep scanned copies of all relevant supporting documents handy. This would allow the candidate to finish the application process faster and secure the examination centre of their own choice.

A total of 1007 vacancies are announced for the Specialist Officer positions. The final result will be announced by IBPS along with the detailed notification. Through it, candidates will be able to know if they are selected for the further process.
In total 11 banks will recruit students through IBPS SO exam 2025. The candidates can get positions in Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, UCO Bank, and Union Bank of India.
In IBPS SO exam 2025, students should cover up certain topics such as Database Management System, Data Communication and Networking, Operating System, Software Engineering, Data Structure, Computer Organization and Microprocessor, and Object-Oriented Programming.
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection does not allow candidates in final year to appear for the IBPS SO exam. Candidates should have completed their graduation in any discipline from a recognized university. Only the candidates with the pass result can apply for the IBPS SO exam.
A candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) to apply for the position. They should also get enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council.
The candidates going to apply for the IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria 2025 should be between 20 and 30 years of age. The age relaxation is available for reserved category students. Candidates can check the age criteria in detail as per their categories.

No final year candidates are not eligible for IBPS SO. Candidates who hold a degree will only be eligible for appearing in the examination.
For the posts of scale-1 officers, experience is not required. However, if you have an experience you will definitely get a preference.
Apart from the personal and educational documents generally required, a candidate from Bhutan will need an authorization letter from the Government of India in order to be eligible for IBPS SO.
