• Entrance Exam - NIMCET is conducted as a computer-based exam involving 120 multiple-choice questions from the subjects of Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness, and English. Candidates are awarded 4 marks for every correct answer and 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.

• Rank Allotment - Candidates will be allotted a rank based on their performance in the NIMCET 2026 exam. NIMCET rank is determined using a weighted score formula, providing greater emphasis to Mathematics, followed by Logical Reasoning and Computer Awareness.
• Counselling and Seat Allotment - Candidates are required to participate in the NIMCET counselling process based on their rank. They have to register online for the NIMCET counselling process, fill in their choices of NITs, and lock preferences.
