NLSAT 2026 Eligibility: NLSAT eligibility criteria is the minimum conditions required to be met by the students for admission. To apply, you must have finished a Bachelor's degree in any field from a recognised college or university. General category applicants must have graduated with at least 45%, while those from SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL/ PWD categories with 40% minimum.

Individuals in the final year of their graduation can also send their applications. However, you have to submit proof of completing the last qualifying degree to the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) by December 31, 2026. NLSAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria for all the categories

Given below are the NLSAT 2026 eligibility criteria for the General Category:

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognised institute or university with a minimum of 45% marks or equivalent CGPA / SGPA.
• Must be in their final year of graduation degree or awaiting results.

NLSAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria for SC / ST / OBC / PWD category:

• Those who belong to the SC / ST / PWD or OBC category must have a 40% aggregate in graduation (or its equivalent) in any stream.
• Must be in their final year of graduation or awaiting results

NLSAT 2026 Reservation Policy:

Based on the category of students, a certain percentage of seats will be reserved for them in NLSIU, Bengaluru as is required by law. Candidates from the reserved category must go through the NLSAT eligibility criteria carefully before applying. The table given below shows the percentage of seats reserved for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD and other categories.

5% of the total intake shall be reserved horizontally for Persons with Disabilities (PWD); 30% of the total intake shall be reserved horizontally for women, and 25% of the total intake shall be reserved horizontally (compartmentalised) for Karnataka Students.

NLSAT 2026: Karnataka Student’s Category

The specifications regarding the NLSAT 2026 eligibility for the Karnataka category are as follows -

1. Students who have studied for not less than 10 years in a recognised educational institution in Karnataka shall be considered as 'Karnataka Students.’

2. Those who have not completed ten years of study in Karnataka shall be eligible to apply under the Karnataka Students category if they fall under any of the following categories.

• Children of defence personnel/ex-servicemen, who at the time of joining service, have declared their hometown to be in the State of Karnataka, and who have served or are serving outside Karnataka, corresponding to the candidate's years of study outside Karnataka.
• Children of employees of the Karnataka State Government who have served or are serving outside Karnataka, corresponding to the candidate's years of study outside Karnataka.
• Children of serving or retired employees belonging to the Karnataka cadre of the All India Services (IAS / IFS / IPS), who have served or are serving outside Karnataka, corresponding to the candidate's years of study outside Karnataka.
• Children of working or retired employees in the Central Armed Police Force service, who, upon joining service, declared their hometown to be in the State of Karnataka, and who have served or are serving outside Karnataka, corresponding to the candidate’s years of study outside Karnataka.
